Hello, I am haplessly trying to install Visual Studio 2008 and MSDN, but both the setups fail in the intial stages itself.
I have a screenshot attached to this post.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit)
You may need to run through the system registry and remove any entries like Visual Studio. I installed VS 2008 under Windows 7 Ultimate X64. You'll need the upgrades, as you will get a message about incompatibilities with VS and Windows 7.
You can also try coping the install cd to your hard drive, then run the setup. I've done that a time or 2.
I had trouble installing the VS 2008 express editions on Vista64. Someplace I found an iso image with SP1 integrated. That went right on. I would think there would be one for the higher editions.
