Solved Unable to play several games after updating DirectX?

Recently, several games on this laptop (Lenovo 3000 N100 with Windows 7 64-bit) that worked previously have become unplayable. Either they don't open at all, or they do open, but I see a black/clear screen. I think the problem is with my graphic drivers, because I can play the games by enabling the "256 color" and "Play in 640x480". Anyway, the problem started occurring after I tried to update my DirectX version and my graphic cards to play a new game (This war of Mine), which included updates to DirectX that I used. After that, my DirectX version updated to 11, but now I'm unable to play several games. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling my graphic drivers, but I haven't had any results.

Were you playing the games with the on-board GPU? Do you have a secondary GPU possibly not-listed in specs?

I've tried restoring to the earliest point possible, and it's odd, but the point's over a few months ago when I first go this laptop, well before the updating of DirectX and when the problem first started, but it's still not working.

Then I guess this is more than a DirectX issue and perhaps it was coincidental.

Can you go into BIOS (Setup menu as you boot laptop) and check for any GPU related entries? Try to increase dedicated/shared memory for GPU if possible (sometimes there is no options). If nothing there, try loading defaults (either first screen or exit menu) again in BIOS.

I tried to find something related to the GPU in the BIOS Menu, but I couldn't find anything, I'm afraid. I did set all my options to default, but I'm still having the same results.

I'd try uninstalling DirectX and reinstalling 9.0c, the most used version of it, ever.

Info provided shows 256 megs of video memory and it's shared, that's a major red flag on any kind of performance for gaming, let alone the low end CPU.

Your laptop's video is NOT using/supporting Direct X 11, see if that fixes the issue.

Direct X past version 9 never really got going.... I have a Direct X 11 compatible video card, but hardly any games take advantage of it and the hardware requirements for it's use are a tad better than yours.

Direct X 9.0c is the default Direct X version these days, so if it was working before, it was 99.999999999999% likely that was the version you were using.

Can you show/post a tutorial on how to uninstall DirectX? I tried Googling it a few weeks back, and most of the official support sites said that it was impossible to uninstall it, and the software they recommended didn't help as it kept trying to reinstall the most current version of DirectX, which is 11.
