Hi

I created a system image and want to reimage my machine using a bigger drive.

I can boot of a setup dvd or usb and get to the 're-image' part of the gui, however no matter what i do, it fails to see the image (location?)

I have the image on an external drive, also on a secondary drive in the computer and on the network.
The gui will not 'find' the image (its properly named and at the root).

Is there a way to tell the restore gui to look for the image on the other internal drive or on the external drive explictly ? Maybe through the command prompt?

I can see the drive(s) that contain the WIndowsImageBackup via commandprompt and also from the gui (if i hit browse when trying to install a driver option).

At this point I am stumped why it cannot find the image, I have done this many times before and never seen this.

If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate any tips !

Thank You

Can anyone tell me if Macrium will restore from a Windows created img or only if you create an img using Macrium ?

Looks like the forum is getting tired. But the answer to a lot of questions can be found by doing a search.
The Win 7 imaging utility easily loses track of it images, IME. Other swear by it. There's something about mounting the shadow volume to re-address the image - something like that.
I rejected the Win 7 imaging function after a little testing. I don't want incremental backups anyway.
Macrium can't deal with Win 7-made images.
Your best bet is to make a Macrium image of the drive being replaced, and restore that to your new drive.
You've probably worked it all out somehow, given this is 5 days old. Hope so.
