Unable to run SFCscan,Windows Updates error 80004002,IE,Troubleshooter

Those two files were produced in November 2011! - so not much use to us now.
Were there no more recent ones?
Of not, run another SFC /SCANNOW and reboot, then post the new CBS.log file

I still get the following message when I try to run the sfc scan:

Put a space between the c and the /

Sometimes the space is need and sometimes not.

Lets see the service settings


:ar: Click Start, type Services.msc

:ar: Double-click Windows Modules Installer

:ar: Set its Startup type to Manual

:ar: Click OK.

Okay, it did say it was stopped, I restarted it. Also, I meant to tell you when I click "services", I get the following error and click yes to continue. Now that I've restarted it, should I restart my laptop?

Yes restart the PC and try running SFC /SCANNOW once more.

I still get the same msg when I try to run sfc/scannow. I tried it with and without the space. I then checked services/module installer and it is still manual and says started.

See if you could run the SFC /SCANNOW in Recovery Environment

I don't have a cd...

You don't have an empty CD or a Installation CD ? You could create a repair disc if you have any empty CDs

It gave me an error when it was just about done creating the disc

dvd and it never came with an installation cd

Try using an empty CD-R

Actually, for some reason, even though it said it didn't work...the files are on the disk. Weird.

Lets see if its bootable . Restart the PC with the disc inside and boot off the disc .
