I'm sure this has been talked about many times. Though not sure about the wording of my question. I'm new to windows 7. I just came from Vista. But basically I have my taskbar setup like Vista or even XP I guess. I have it set never to combine. But It still groups folders together, msg messenger and chats, IE windows. I want it so everything is individual and starts out all the way to the right. I love that you can move things around though.

Any fixes, work-arounds, programs that can do this?

You mean if you open 3 instances of Firefox (not tabs but browser windows) and 2 of MSIE you see the main icon with folders behind them with Firefox and MSIE, if that is it that is the way it is and no changing AFAIK.

I use Small Icons and Never Combine (looks like vista or xp or any older versions of windows). But yeah, that sounds right. That really sucks if you can't change that. I like my programs and folders and stuff openned in a certain order. Which doesn't matter anymore because you can move things on the taskbar. Except now things are stuck together and makes it mostly useless anyways.

Is it just me or is microsoft removing more and more features as time goes on? Makes me wonder if we should all start moving to an open source OS soon.
