uninstall/install internal error 2503 and 2502

i've had this error since i tried re installing steam, and have been searching everywhere for how to fix it and still everything i try doesnt work, anyone know how to fix this

have you tried to install the program with Administrator Privileges and in Windows XP compatibility mode?

i don't know what windows XP compatibility mode is and when i try to go to c/windows/installer it gives me a dialog box that says it is not accessible and access denied

Sounds like a permissions issue to me.

run as administrator the program

Run as Administrator or Elevated Admin rights = Right Click on .EXE file (install file) and a small window will open, you will then see an option that says "Run as Administrator"... you now left click on this option.

i've already tried to run as administrator... one of the first things i did. still nothing is helping

try to run the program in windows xp compatibility mode.

Have you gone to the Steam Forums or Tech support to see if they can lend a hand or shed some light?

its not just steam, its with almost all the programs i try to install/uninstall and im almost certain that steam didnt cause the problem

Well, is simple... either you waste more time waiting for an answer or... just reinstall a fresh copy of Windows again.

That or try to repair windows and see if that gets the error fix.

haha yea i know thats what i need to do, this is my last resort, i really dont want to re install windows 7 but idk maybe i will get windows 8

remain to Windows 7, especially if you play a lot games Windows 8 is not yet optimized for gaming
