I uninstalled a program awhile back but kept getting errors in Event Viewer referring to that program so started searching my puter & found 3 folders in Programs(x86) with the name of that program, can I safely just delete them?

Thanks,
grits

I would suggest reinstalling the program then use Revo Uninstaller Free version to uninstall it. It will do a normal uninstall then search the registry and hard drive for left over items.

Thanks Jacee, I kinda thought it would be ok but needed to be sure.

And thanks Ztruker but had Revo once & when it got to the search results part it always spooked me for fear of me deleting the wrong things. The registry scares the dickins out of me.

If you go in there and start deleting things, you might delete the wrong thing. To be safe you should install again and uninstall. Don't do anything manually.

Are you referring to 'going into' registry or folders in Programs?

I am referring to deleting file pieces of a left over program. Sometimes two programs use the same file and you can run into trouble.

This is what I'm referring to. What other program could possibly use the same file?

I have good backups so if something I try causes a problem it's quick and easy to restore to a working system. I've used Revo literally thousands of times and it's never caused me any problems. I don't agonize of what I'm deleting either, just take what Revo suggests and tell to to delete all of them, registry and files/folders.

Maybe just try renaming the folder for now then reboot and see if any problems. If not then delete it.

Would you believe that this is still bugging me?! lol

Will 1st attach shot of Event Viewer Error (an old shot but I get it everytime I startup) then a couple of what I just found this morning & have no idea what to do about/with them. Sorry folks, I'm about as computer illiterate as they come. I do know that SABKUTIL is related to SuperAdBlocker. oops, forgot to mention again that I did UNinstall both Superantispyware & Superadblocker.

I guess my main question concerns shots #2 & #3 in post #10. Thoughts that are rolling around in my head are:

should I 'disable' what's in shot #2?
should I go into the 'downloads' of shot #3 & Re-install SAB just to then install & use Revo to Uninstall it?

Like I said, you're dealing with an egghead that has sooooo much to learn about computer. By the way, those 'downloads' are NOT in my 'Downloads' in the library section.
