Solved Uninstalling MSE

If I uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials, will it take all the (MSE) updates with it?

Updates for MSE become part of MSE. Everything should be removed. If they are not they would not cause any problems other than take up space.

Everything should go with the uninstall
After the uninstall put Microsoft Security Essentials into search and see if anything comes up.

If something does come up. Download the free Ccleaner, use it once a week to stay crap free. It would remove the updates if any.

Now that the first question is taken care of and you raised another one, I don't feel bad about taking my own thread off topic.

I've used it many times over the years but have never been really at ease with it. So many options.
Do you know of a good, thorough tutorial on how to properly use and get the most out of CCleaner?

Do not need a tutorial. Use it to remove everything, BUT do not touch the registry.

No need to touch registry, it can only cause problems, even if suggested by Ccleaner

But exactly what you decide to clean is up to you, although the default pre-selected stuff should be fine.

Hi! This is my first reply on SF. I have been watching a lot!
When ever I uninstall programs with REVO; I like to follow up with Search Everything.
It will find any left over files after uninstalling a program that REVO misses!

I was trying to see if you had a storage question hidden in the original and prior replies
Seems space is an issue of some type,
Could you elaborate as to why space is a concern and hopefully you are using another antivirus program in MSE's place
And which one and why ?

Granted MSE needs Malwarebytes pro/ premium for added protection,

But on the other hand so do the majority of other paid for and free antivirus programs,
This is about all everyone can agree on

Not a real concern. I just don't like any space being wasted; like the lazyass son in-law in the basement.

I have read multiple articles on how MSE has been slacking off and easing out of the AV realm. I am currently trying out Bitdefender and Panda Free. Both have received rave reviews and seem to be easy on resources.

I wouldn't believe everything or just about anything you read about mse from a third party
Most are pushing some thing else mse and mbam pro has been on board for me a for several years without issues or corruption,

The worst thing about third party a-v's is their ability to block windows updates and internet explorer's new security features,
Turning ie into a brick,
MSE is probably the only security suite that no special uninstaller is needed
