Solved Unknown files in C drive, help please

Hi. I have a relatively new computer for gaming and general use. Recently within 'computer' and my C drive lots of single files have appeared. They look messy and I'm not sure if I even need them. I have clicked into a few and found out that they are visual studio 9.0 or Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package. Can I delete these or organise them into a folder? Here is a photo of what I mean.

Hello Ethan, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It looks like they are just the installation files that were extracted at that location for some reason. You should be able to delete all files from the eula.1028 file down. I would recommend to leave them in the Recycle Bin for a day or two, and run the visual studio 9.0 or Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package programs to see if they still run properly afterwards.

If so, then you can empty the Recycle Bin. If not, then you could just restore them.

I have deleted the eula text files. Could I just move the remaining files into the 'Windows' folder and leave them there?

Ok. I dont know what programmes are using the visual studio 9.0 or Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package. So would it be ok just to move the files into the 'Windows' folder in the C drive and leave them there?

You could if you wanted to, but if you wanted to see if it was safe to be able to delete them or not, then placing them in the Recycle Bin while testing will let you know.

None, they are the installation files used to install Visual studio and Microsoft Visual C++ 2008.
