Unknown program, would like advice how to " quarantine " if possible.

I just noticed a program in the " Programs and Features " list ( Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit),
details as follows ;

Name : 699ca00DDb195 installed 2/11/14

No publisher , size or version listed. Googling came up with nothing.

I'm trying to clean out the system. Is there a means to uninstall and place in a " quarantine " so I can use with this program disabled and see if there are any problems. I don't want to uninstall it on a whim that it is malware or some other PUP. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

It could be a glitch in your OS. But You might try running Herdprotect portable and SuperAntiSpyware. You could also run Autoruns and see if something is starting up that shouldn't. You can even right click and entry and it will scan it at VirusTotal. Just don't go disabling or uninstalling anything you shouldn't.

Herdprotect uses 68 malware engines so it should find all, but the risk of false positives are high so research what it finds. Another tool is Freefixer. The name sounds like a snake oil program, but it's not. What it does is scan the computer and presents you with a list of installed items with a link next to most giving you Info. on those.

Another tool is ADwcleaner which may find things Superantispyware doesn't.

Download Portable herdProtect 1.0.3.9 Beta

SUPERAntiSpyware | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware!

FreeFixer

AdwCleaner - Free Adware Cleaner & Removal Tool | Malwarebytes

I'd search the registry with that long serial-like program name and see what you come up with. If you find anything post the results here. Don't delete anything.
