I have been running Windows 7 Home Premium on 4 pcs on my network for over 2 years. Two of the pcs for the last week have the unsecapp process running at startup. Neither of the pcs have had any software installed in over 2 months, or have had any configuration changes made to them. The network still works flawlessly, but the 2 pcs with the unsecapp running take a lot longer to see the other pcs. The only changes were windows updates, and McAfee updates. This was done on all 4 pcs.

What could have triggered windows to start this process? How would I determine what program or startup process is using it? :sarc:

I have tried bootlogging, but it only registers the sys files loaded during the boot.

thanks in advance

Process Explorer can help you to figure out unsecapp.exe parent process.

Also, you can use filters in Process Monitor to monitor unsecapp.exe realtime activity.

thanks Neutron16. Process Explorer does have a lot of info, but I do not see the parent process. Where do I find the parent process?
