Very frustrating. I've come in here to see if anyone has discovered how unsubscribe and turn off Google Quora.
Normally I avoid Gmail but I have to watch it for replies by one individual.

Please don't send me back to some list of How tos made by Quora itself. I've seen the instruction that says unsubscribe at the bottom of the mail. Nothing there but a button to submit a reply. Who wants any of those meaningless messages?

I also saw some third party site that says just hit the button and you're unsubscribed. That didn't work either.
The propeller heads and Google must be working overtime on keeping Quora going.

What has Google to do with Quora? They're completely separated!

But on to topic, you've stumbled upon one of the most frustrating facts of internet: once you enter a spam list, you NEVER get out of it. Unsuscribe might work, but more often than not they'll simply ignore it (and moreover, it confirms the spammer that your email is active, which drives more spam in).

The best you can do is to setup a blacklist with their address so that their email goes directly to spam and dies there.

A good discussion. Yes that is very subtle and I'll try it. FYI and only of possible interest but R. Sikoryak has a graphic book called Terms And Conditions in which he uses his comic art-- an art using the style of well-known cartoonists everybody knows-- to write one of the Apple terms of serviice line by line.
I've also noticed that Google wants to know my phone number every time I want to login to Ebay. I've used a couple of dodges just to avoid more counting and tracking of usage simply because _I don't like it_.
Here's the Sikoryak (In many libraries)

I'll report back trying to use your suggestion. No idea on how I might be a subscriber since up til lately I never looked at the gmail account. That was built years and years ago for a group commuication.
But in my new usage I tried to put in mail forwarding for my correspondent. The Quora posts have not come to my Thunderbird inbox.
thanks to all for contiuing the discussion

I did both methods and I hope the [email protected] did the job.
I feel like Bluebottle on The Goon Show saying "This game is no fun anymore."

Who wants this stuff, regardless of how it wound up at my gmail? It must be social media. I've never had any Facebook, Twitter or anything else but mail and some help sites like this one (plus news and personal things.)

I am nearly ready to mark this solved. The mail to [email protected] garnered a reply from staff.
The snipped message above said "we see you've logged in to Quora so we reactivated your account. That was infuriating.
So I'll wait to see if the contact at Quora fulfills her promise to unsubscribe once and for all.
[Looking up Quora, I had no idea it was this long established internet exchange of of Q&A. But all the settings and whatnot made it look as complicated as trying to get what you want done in on Reddit.
