unusual registry key name

Hi there, So I was walking through Win 7 Pro (32bit) registry (looking for uninstalled programs residues - and I may say I found a lot! e.g. Corel left tons of entries and Comodo firewall left some ones, and why? but this is not the case now), and I've found this key as follows: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\kdjlocbehikkmjlfipmnlanhjcdofgkgbidppkkjbpdiphladpegibmkglniddijjbekakiepaaeinkfdjfmendkmfgchjhjnfpghjpnldmjckgabpfojnbggjhb Clicking on that give the message as follows: "- Key...... cannot be opened. An error is preventing this key from being opened. Details: The system cannot find the file specified" I haven't had any issue with any kind of virus...etc....So I am confused. Windows would not have by itself such weird key name, I guess. I would appreciate any comment. Thanks!

Is there a user folder with that name? or just the entry in reg?

What AV app are you using? when was the last time you ran it?

- There is no folder with such name. Just the registry entry - Security app: Symantec AV, Emsisoft Anti-Malware and Outpost Firewall Pro. I ran a quick scan of all app 2 days ago. Also I ran Malwarebytes. Nothing detected.

well, i also have the same problem and my key is HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\{80b8c23c-16e0-4cd8-bbc3-cecec9a78b79}

it happens the key cant be deleted. and the weird thing is this keys exist when im using windows XP. And after i've changed to seven,the keys still exist? I mean after i format C and do a fresh install? I think of it as a mystery entry created by drivers,maybe my MOBO,REALTEK etc

That's a good question. I don't know. Even with no app running, I am still not able to delete it. I am gonna try a boot-safe mode and see what happens. Maybe is something related to the OS. I ran again all the security app to scan the registry and nothing detected.

Whats with you guys? Stop fiddling around in the registry and inventing problems. Unless theres something obviously wrong with your system, why do you have to open up its innards?

Dont fix something that aint broken.

Well thanx for the advice bill,I'm not trying to fix something that i don't know either. I found that reg when i used cc cleaner. Ever since i cant delete it, i let it stay. Until now,the reg resides in my pc and no problems so far

The old and good dictate "Dont fix something that aint broken" always works. So I was very curious about that registry key name. So I posted this thread. I did several tests to make sure the system is health, and it is, that's good. That registry might be from a program. As far as the system is running well, it is OK. Thank you all for the replies. Sounds like an Avira entry.

If you turn off protection mode for reg entries (or something similar) , you will be able to access it.

It might be needed for Avira tho.
