update and inndexing wont start

have to use cell phone to connect to web. indexing is set to start auto and updt wont, do anything opens a window and wont close. win7 home premium

couple things to try,
for starters lets reset the Windows update settings

PLEASE use option 2

As for indexing, personally i think its a waste of time and your comps resources,
File and Folder Settings - Index - Enable or Disable | Vista Forums

(works on 7 as well)


Now run, from an elevated command mode

sfc /scannow


and finally, the standalone repair tool, it could take a while and seem not to be working, go have a cuppa
