Just signed up so I can ask about that error in the title. Been using 7 ultimate 32 bit and that's the error I get with the Net framework update and 2 others that were with it.
I've tried resetting the updates, ran the SUR tool, tried a few registry cleaners and fixers but the error still shows up even when I do a standalone install they still fail.
here's the entries from the update tool that seem to say whats broke.

I'm thinking if I can get the files or dll's back in the registry it might work again, pretty sure system restore wont fix them and hoping to not have to burn down the install and start from scratch again.
I spose I could do a repair install too but just hoping to fix it and move on without having to redo the whole mess.
Other then that everything I use seems to work fine and not having any persistent errors or BSOD issues.
I'm running a 9600 AMD quad core with 4 meg of ram and a ATI 3870x2, pretty sure everything's good enough to work just want to sort it out, thanks.

Well a system repair might be in my future at this rate as I think I've tried all the other fixes in that thread.
Thanks a lot Flavius for the help and files to fix it. For some reason C became G drive so it didn't want to take telling it to go to C drive but once I figured that out and made sure it was typed exactly like you said except for changing the drive letter it worked it's magic.
