Since Aug 9 updates, I tried every solution there is to do, including adding all kb's suggested and the two MS fixit solutions. While trustedinstaller and wuauserv are consuming 95% of the cpu and the update page green bar is looking, my ISP activity status shows that only a few hundred bytes are being sent/received to/from the MS update server. After a few minutes, I get error code 8024402C MS list of error codes says 'the proxy server or target server name can not be resolved.
Now, don't know if this is just a coincidence but I went to 'resource monitor' to check cpu usage, and I right clicked on trustedinstaller and reset stop/start. Opened update page and clicked check for updates. I'm a very happy person. Update checked, found the Aug 9 updates, loaded and installed. And the six GWX that were deleted using the fixit were not included on the list.
