upgrading gpu from gts 250 1gb?

Hi time has come to upgrade my bfg gts 250 1gb o/c!
What is the best card to get in the £100-150 mark.
If you look at my specs as i ant a card that will run sweet and give me good fps in skyrim!elder scrools V
(it has to be nvidia)not a fan of radeon

Nvidia by EVGA Gtx 460 1gb. EVGA can superclock (OC) them for you if you'd like with their upgraded card.

Did you go with the gtx 480 mbfg o/c or is that another rig?

ok im going to throw an ATI card in the mix (as i cant see why anybody isnt a fan or a specific brand as they all do the same thing lol and i chop and change all the time)

the ATI 6850 is about £120, was a good card at launch a couple of years ago, however with recent updates the card is even faster, which rarely happens with updates. it will be all similarly priced Nvidia offerings and is pc formats recommended budget gpu

Most ATI cards are better priced. However, if you are looking for greater compatability with games and certain applications, and better support, Nvidia is the choice card. Nvidia's drivers tend to be better, the software (installation and otherwise) more user friendly, and it tends to be better for anything dealing with 3D pictures (if one might have that capability)

well i can say hands down i have never had compatibility issues with ATI cards.

Ive had a mix of ATI and NVIDIA cards from early 2000's upwards. I just change back and forth depending on which card is the best buy at the time of me wanting one.

oh i have a gts 250 not a 480 .thats my other rig.
i have to rigs one upstairs and one down stairs in the gaming room

im thinking of a 460!as i have 2 copys of mw3 and want to run them on both riga at same time!
also i have skyrimblivion V now!and i dont think a gts 250 will run it all sexy if you understand

the 460 is a very quiet and cool card, while being quite amazing. I owned one before. you could even get another later on down the road and hook it up for a pretty nice sli.

do you think its worth waiting till the 560 -580 cards come down in price a bit!

no, unless you are planning on hardcore gaming. 580 may only come down a bit, and it can be a pretty hot card without proper cooling in your case. The 560 and 570 are quite good from what i hear, but you'd be a long time waiting. What if they have REAL3D games where you join in "for real" in the action by then? you'd be asking the same question you are now lol
