Hello Experts,

I have two hard drives in my PC, one of which has Windows 7. I have one drive protected with windows 7 password protection. Today i have installed Windows XP on my other hard drive because i have been facing this explorer.exe issue for few weeks. After installing i am unable to access that password protected drive(i know it sounds stupid)...

Please tell me how can i access the data of that protected drive while staying in XP. Also please tell me if i reinstall a fresh windows 7, would i be able to access that drive again...

Urgent answer required because that drive contain data worth of my life...

If you have a windows startup disk use it to boot from and when you get to the recovery section click on the black command prompt. It will put you into a directory with an X:\. From there type in C: and press enter then type in the following:

bootrec /fix mbr
bootrec/fixboot

If you have a Windows DVD you can use that as a boot disk to get to the recovery section. Juts choose repair.
