USB 3.0 and Card Reader Drivers - Satellite C55D-A5108

I am continuing with this install (see previous thread for details http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware...ard-drivers-toshiba-satellite-c55d-a5108.html), and just about everything is working as it should...except the 3.0 port and the front card reader slot. Those are the only two things that i can tell so far that arent working. I have searched my butt off and cant seem to locate either of the right drivers for these two things. I found this thread (Installing Windows 7 x64 Need Drivers for Satellit... - TOSHIBA FORUMS) through searching and try the first link posted but it ends up at the AMD site and says "Download Not Complete"...but nothing ever pops up to download or anything. I even disabled adblock and ghostery (chrome user) thinking that was the issue, but to no avail. As per the norm...thanks for all this site does...you've helped me more times than i can count.

im not one to usually install third party software like this...but i recon ill give it a shot, know one on here has steered me wrong yet...

currently installing drivers via the software mentioned above...it seems to have found the ones i need (obviously we'll find out when its done) and a few that i hadnt seen...or got an outdated version of

ok so that software did a lil bit, but it didnt fix everything. The card reader still doesnt work...here is a screen shot of what is left that isnt installed (see attached image)...the card reader drivers were installed but it still doesnt work...not really sure whats up...let me know what else you need, info wise to figure out what it takes to get these two items working. BTW the USB 3.0 port is now working, verified with my external USB hard drive (light turns blue only when used with USB 3.0 port, white for a regular port.)

Maxie - I tried to Rep your suggestion, but of course the system blocked it. So, good assist, my friend.

Another suggestion is to delete the items in the Other category and reboot.
Somethings MS will reinstall these items correctly the second time around.
Worth a try and it can't hurt.

i have tried the driver from the link posted about 4 times now (before posting the question), to no avail. Im downloading it again to give it another shot, there are two options, one that i ~105 MB and one that is ~44 MB...neither of them worked. I am currently downloading the larger of the two again as i type this...

What do you mean delete the items in the other category?

i already have that installed and working...well i assume so since my display is working correctly (Aero effects) and my USB 3.0 port is working as well.

SM Bus Controller is a data controller for slow speed devices. In your case, this device is most likely part of the card reader itself and its driver from the card reader vendor (is often the case). That's why the chipset drivers don't resolve it

Your Ethernet controller is your LAN connection. You must be connected Wifi?

Did you look for the Network LAN driver and card reader driver on your product support site?

yes the wifi is what i am using.

Yea. It's a Ricoh card reader. It's listed under Flash Memory

are you referring to getting this driver straight from Ricoh? or did you see it on the toshiba support page? i cant seem to find anything on their support site that mentions flash memory.

• Click the + sign next to Components to expand it
• Click Problem Devices. Anything appear?
• If yes, click on it, Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy it, Ctrl-V to paste into next post
• On the other hand, if no devices are listed, tell me so

OH! Is your card reader working? or no? I've been under the assumption it's not and that's the SM Bus Controller in question... But the data in your last post suggests it REALLY IS a m/b device

So, first, let me double check. Is your card reader, in fact, working or not?? We know you still need the Ethernet driver. Are you aware of any other devices not yet working?

Spefically, in addition to whether the card reader is working how about the Catalyst Control Center for your graphics card? Does CCC seem to be working OK?
