As I was saying, the vendor ID seems to be from the chip maker of the reader. The chips do require a driver for USB 3.0 but it's more "firmware" than a driver though as it's chip based. I still think the problem is hardware. Either the reader is faulty or the adapter. You might try disconnecting the card reader and adapter then try using one of the rear USB 3.0 ports with something in it--Like a thumb drive and see if the hub stays powered after a sleep. If it doesn't then it's most likely your power settings. If it does, then it's the reader, cable or adapter.
