Solved USB 3 external SATA drive, how do I check it's seen as a USB 3 device?

USB 3 SATA III 2.5 inch drive I have put in an elderly "Icy Box" external case. I suspect the little PCB that interfaces the 2.5 inch drive to the cases' USB cable port may not be USB 3 compatible. Can I check if my Windows 7 64 bit OS is seeing this devices as a USB 3 standard drive in any way please? Thanks.

Usb 3 isnt nativley supported on 7 have you added drivers

Yes, I used the installer medium discussed on this forum and had the USB 3 drivers added before installing Win 7

I am sure the drivers are OK, it's more a question of whether the external case with its internal PCB linking the SSD to the case socket is USB compatible. Thanks for the reply.

HWInfo shows a Sata 3 drive on a 1.5 Gbps USB
The SPIF225A SATA to USB controller is a USB 2.0 not a USB 3.x
Compliant with USB 2.0 specifications and pass USB certification.
Support USB high speed (480Mbps) and full speed transfer rate (12Mbps).

Thanks, that is as I suspected as the drive box is pretty old. I am assuming the SPIF225A is the board inside the drive box and not a part of the drive itself! I have ordered a modern case for the drive which I hope will address the issue, thanks again everyone.
