Hi there, ive purchased a usb - serial device for flashing my cars ecu.
It is discovered fine on my pc ( Win 7 32 bit )
but my samsung rv520 new laptop ( win7 64Bit) it just comes up with an unknown device code 28 in the device manager.
it is suitable for 32 bit and 64 bit so its not that, ive uninstalled usb drivers , hubs etc but it still wont install it.
ive tried manually showing it where the driver is even tho my pc didnt need even that i just plugged it in and 2 secs later it was working.

so please help because im so frustrated with it.

Code 28 is driver not installed.

Plug the USB device into the PC. Go to the Device Manager and RIGHT click on the entry for the unknown device to highlight it and then LEFT click "Uninstall". Remove the USB device from the PC and then restart the PC. After Windows loads, plug the USB device in and Windows should detect new hardware and install it. Then, when you want to unplug it, Always use the "Safely Remove Hardware" to "stop" the device before you unplug it (on Both PC's, not just the 64 bit one).
