I recently moved to an apartment and my roommate has gotten AT&T'S U-Verse. The '2WIRE' box in his room while my computer is in the dining room. I'm using an ASUS USB-N13 to connect to the 2WIRE box. I just bought an NAS (D-Link DNS-343) and when I hook up my computer to a D-Link green gigabit switch (the 8-port version), Windows 7 wants to use the internetless connection from the LAN over the wireless connection. I use IRC; when I'm connected to IRC and I connect my LAN to my computer, IRC still uses the derelict wireless connection while trying to load a new page uses the new LAN connection.
somehow this is all surrounded by my Linksys WRT54G2 wireless router.
I need windows 7 to use my wireless connection even though I have an LAN going, any ideas?
