Not sure I'm posting this in the right place but here goes

I was cleaning out my computer and deleting the inactive accounts, setting up the guest account, enabling parental controls, etc. When I was finished, I had two administrator accounts (mine and my mom's) and we were going to set up a guest account with parental controls. As I went to do this, I was prompted to set up a password for her account. I clicked "Add new password," but when I did this it password protected the account without me even adding a password? So I signed out of my account to go to my mom's side, but I couldn't access it because there was a password!! But really that password didn't exist, so I went back to my account to remove the "password." After signing out of my account once again, I was able to go into her account which had then turned into a temporary account (no clue how that happened). So I went to switch accounts but the only accounts visible in the Startup screen are her's (which is still a temporary account) and an account titled "Other User" which requires a username + a password -- mine is completely gone.

So when I'm in my mom's (temporary) account I can still access the control panel and My Computer, which shows that the accounts do exist!! And so do all of their files!! So all I need to do is get them to show back up in the Startup menu, which I'm kind of lost on how to do.

Sorry this is kind of (very) long, I just wanted to be as detailed as possible. Thanks in advance!

j,
Welcome to SevenForums.

As a word of advice, in the future, do NOT touch your Mom's account.

Please run cmd.exe and carry out the following which will put files on your desktop which I would like for you to upload.

Also, very strong advice: DISABLE the GUEST account!

wmic group get caption,description /format:table > %userprofile%\desktop\group.txt

wmic useraccount list full /format:table > %userprofile%\desktop\UserAccountsFull.txt

wmic sysaccount get Domain,LocalAccount,Name,SID,Status /format:table > %userprofile%\desktop\SystemAccounts.txt
