Hi all
In the past on my Windows7 Pro I have had messages that " I don't have administrator rights" so I have fiddled around until I have, ( I think by opposite clicking and selecting > Run as Administrator ) or making a an Admin account through Control Panel, on rebooting the PC I have been asked to enter my password which I have tried to stop, and now I have 2 login icons on the welcome screen, one is for Administrator and the other Robert, which I click on to open.
To day a message appeared saying that my Smart Defrag2 had stopped working, ExeptionEInOutError00095B8 which I can't sort out, so I decided to uninstall the program and download it again, unfortunately as I clicked onto the Revo uninstaller I got a message saying that I did not have Administrator privileges so it will not work.
If I “swap users” the Administrator account screen seems very basic so I have tried to delete the Administrator account through “Add or Remove User Accounts” but there is no remove option for the Admin account only for “ Robert standard account “ which I want to keep.
Any help to sort this out will be appreciated. Regards Robert.

You definitely don't want to delete the admin account, if you think that one is corrupt you should make a new admin before deleting the old.

You can lock yourself out of your computer without an admin account.

I only use Revo when the standard method of uninstalling doesn't work.

Sounds like you can run this and see if it finds and fixes anything,

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

You may have to run it 3 times with reboots in between.

Hi again, thanks for your interest, I don't quite understand the process yet but I'll try to follow your instructions untill I find the elevated prompt.
Although I must have done something right as now on login it has stopped asking for my PW and all I do is click on the icon, so I tried again to uninstall a program this time through Control Panel> Programs and Features, and got the message that I needed to be an administrator before I could delete the program.
Regards Robert.

Hi VistaKing, thanks for the advice, I have opened the PC Management and on the Local Users link there is a User + a Groups account, when I open the User account there is a list showing "Admin, Guest, Home Groups, Robert, Update User"
When I open > Admin, there is an account description clicking on the > Member Of tab, shows > Administrators and Home Users.
When I click on Robert the General tab is empty, but the Member Of tab shows > Users
Regards Robert.

Hi again, I think Win7 Pro must be a bit diferent? as after opening the admin built in account & clicking on admin in the "Member of" tab I could not find a "Run as Administrator" so after typing CMD while this was open the Win sys 32 cmd box opend and I typed the net localgroups etc, and the message was "An object named Robert cannot be found" so I tried entering Robert in the "Full name box" and Ok'd it on the General tab, of each of the 3 options Admin, Home group users and Robert, and access was denied.
I tried again with the CMD command and this time the massage was as follows > The syntax for this command is:
net
[ ACCOUNTS|COMPUTER||CONFIG|CONTINUE|FILE|GROUP|HELP|STATISTICS|STOP|USE|USER|VIEW]
I:\Users\Robert>_

Hope this makes sense, Thanks for your help

Hi VistaKing Sorry not sure what you mean by this "Login to the Built-in Administrator account?" I must be missing something there. (this is what I did)
I opposite clicked on computer and opened up the computer management box & clicked on Groups and then double clicked on Aministrators then added Robert, rebooted and tried to use my Auslogics prog and again got the message that I need to be an administrator to use it, so I went through the process again, my name was added underneath Administrators so I clicked & highlighted it and then clicked Ok, and access was denied, thanks for your patience

You have a user account by the name of Administrator ? Correct ? That is the built-in Administrator account that is hidden by default. You would have to turn it on by activating it in an a Elevated command prompt .

Lets see something

Open up an Elevated Command Prompt. Click on :orb: in
2nqbqes.png
type CMD . Right click on CMD under Programs (1) choose
mawket.jpg
. On the User Access Control window click on the Yes button . Command Prompt opens up to C:\Windows\System32>_

Paste the highlighted text below

REG QUERY "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList" /s > %userprofile%\Desktop\UserAccounts.txt

   Tip
Right click inside the Command Prompt and select Paste

Upload the UserAccounts.txt file . It should be on your desktop

Hi again VistaKing, I didn't realise that I had to oposite click on the CMD icon, I did so this time, which opened up the menu with "Run as Administrator" at the menu top, which I clicked on & that opened the Black win\Sys32\ cmd.exe box, in which I pasted your highlighted text, there was no User Access Control window or Yes button, after this I did find a txt file on the Desktop appended below.
Sorry I could not find a way to append the file so I highlighted it and pasted it/ Regards Robert.
