Hi,

I have recently upgraded from Windows XP to 7 and everything has been great apart from sometimes when switching users (either logging off one account and logging into another/or using the switch user tool) the user profile doesn't load. So all the desktop settings etc do not appear. This forces me to restart so that everything can be loaded.

I have looked in the event logger and it comes up with the following:

Windows cannot load the locally stored profile. Possible causes of this error include insufficient security rights or a corrupt local profile.

DETAIL - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

and the more detailed view:

Just wandering if anyone can help me out?

Thanks,

I did a full custom installation so I rebooted the computer instead of upgrading as the computer was a sick prior to installing it.

Everything is fine now bar this small error. It is just a bit annoying.

There's something seriously wrong here. There shouldn't be security issues with your new installation.
Are you absolutely sure that you're not infected? If not sure, try the free, online scans listed at this link: Malware

Try creating a new profile and see if the behavior is replicated there.
If it's not replicated, then delete the "bad" profile and use the new one.

If the behavior is replicated in the new profile, then you'll have to do some hard looking to find out exactly what's causing this (as it shouldn't be happening).
