My first impression is NO since your router has a DSL interface on the Wan side. I believe the U-verse router has 4 Lan ports. What are you wanting to do? Do you need more Lan ports or you just need the Wi-Fi ?

I have been reading about U-verse for a while since we may get it this year and I get a 20% discount as a retired ATT employee. I see the U-verse gateway has b/g wi-fi so maybe you will be lucky and your printer will work. The other problem is getting access to the settings in the U-verse gateway to do any configuration. Maybe someone on here has U-verse and can join in.

Did you read that link I gave you on setting up the routers? In theory you may be able to use your Negear router by connecting on of the Lan ports to a U-verse Lan port but you may need a crossover cable (Xmit and Rec leads are reversed). Newer systems the port will auto crossover so they work but not all.

I retired from ATT many years ago before U-verse came out, but from what I have read it is a lot better then DSL.

More than likely, yes, you can use the 2 together. But as Phone Man pointed out, you will have to access the DSL modem setup info and change settings on it or the Netgear. Only one of those 2 devices can act as a DHCP server.

If you can disable DHCP on the DSL modem (or put it in bridge mode), you can let the Netgear handle giving out IP addresses and the wireless. Find the owner's manual online for the modem and give it a read.

Ethernet uses a Xmit pair and a Rec pair and equipment was divided into two types (Network and CPE) and the internal ports were wired different so the Xmit of one would connect to the Rec of the other. If you connect two of the same type together (two routers) then it won't work since you have Xmit to Xmit and Rec to Rec. A crossover cable was used to correct this. That was changed a while back with Auto-Sensing where the ports would look at each other and electrically match up the signal. I suspect the U-verse and your Router will use Auto-Sensing as default setting and a normal cable will work. You just need to give it a try and see what you get.

Ok,this how I did it and u could tell me it's right or not.I connected the wan of netgear to lan of uverse by phone cable and computer to netgear and change the netgear 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.99 and disable DHCP.And it worked and my wireless is same.Did I do it right?

Scrambled, you would connect the network cable from the Uverse to a LAN port on the Netgear. If you've disabled DHCP on the Netgear, then the Netgear is now acting as a switch or access point and should be ok.

Good to hear. As long as you don't use the WAN port on the Netgear, you should be ok. Any other DHCP related settings you need to change will be done through the modem's software.
