Using network adaptor on older board

I tidied up and refurbished an older machine a while ago for my partners granddaughter and am now wondering if I can use a network adaptor for the board - an Intel D915GAV. I was thinking along the lines of this Networking - USB-N13 - ASUS as I really don't want to mess around inside with a card and still find the net will not work.
I have installed 7 Home Premium 32bit on the machine and did all the necessaries at home via an Ethernet cable connection but they do not have any broadband access via even a copper connection at their house.
I have researched the Intel site and Googled to se if I can use the USB device or card but cannot find anything that tells it will work or that the board will support it. D915GAV, Features
Can anyone please shed some light on the board if they have any experience with it.

I might be misunderstanding something but if they have no broadband access then any wired or wireless NIC would be useless in the terms of getting the machine to the Internet. A WiFi dongle would need to connect to a WiFi router which in its turn needs to be connected to ISP to get it working.

If there really is no broadband then the options are either an old fashioned dial-up modem over phone line or a mobile broadband connection. She should ask from her mobile carrier about various mobile broadband alternatives (3G or 4G/LTE).

Thanks Kari there is broadband available and I was going to get one of those prepaid 3G wifi adaptors / modem like I use with this machine. But this laptop has a wireless capability built in (Toshiba L550) But assuming from what I have seen in the specs this older board does not have a wireless capability and why I am wondering if such a device that I referred to (the USB stick adaptor) would pick up the signal from that 3G adaptor / modem.

I wanted to know if the USB wifi stick would pick up from that even if I have it install some software for it. The modem is prepaid so one has to top up the account before you can use the device.

Telstra is the national carrier out here by the by.

Anyway, if the mobile broadband modem / router has WiFi capabilities then any WiFi adapter will work, including the one you mentioned in your original post.

Thanks Kari and sorry I was a bit obtuse I guess I meant they did not have an account with that landline in the house they only use mobile phones. As far as I know that cable into the house is to all intents and purposes disconnected.

So I shall go ahead and get them a modem and the wifi adaptor as they are not in a position to pay for it themselves. The machine is one as I said earlier one I revamped / cleaned up and got 7 installed on for the granddaughter but now her Mum wants to be able to access the net for online training.

Ok mate it does have a radius of 25 metres wifi as I have tried it on this machine my only concern really was that the machine was capable of picking up that signal as it has no wifi capabilities on that board - hence the plug in dongle / adaptor.
