Using Network/"computername" I see dozens of duplicate folders. Why?

Folks,

I've finally gotten my windows 7 network up and running. When I access one computer from another, I see dozens of duplicate folders, each with a "name"~14, "name"~15, etc, label. See the jpg I've attached. That shows one example, with 64 copies.

How do I get rid of them???

Delete does not work (nor is it shown if I right click on the shared folder). They are all identical.

I've obviously got some sort of setting that I need to correct. All my networked computers show all these duplicates of many different folders.

They all look different to me. They have a different number at the end.
Just Google around they look like something to do with phones.

Thanks, but I like I described (somewhat unclearly), they all increment by 1.

As another example, I start with a shared folder called "documents". Under that is "documents~1". Next is "documents~2". It continues to "documents~64". That's 65 shared folders. They all have IDENTICAL contents. Yet, I cannot delete them from the network. I cannot find them on the owning computer (other than the original "documents").

It has nothing to do with phones. The screenshot I posted above is a folder I created. It, like "documents", "music", and "pictures" (and a few others) has something wrong. I have no idea which setting to attack.

One oddity: they seem to be limited to a 12 character name.

If you Google CNBNBeta you get a bunch of news sites.
How you got them I don't know but you said you created them.

Ignore cmbn. It belongs to a game. A game called "Combat Mission: Beyond Normandy". So, the fact that cmbn gives google hits is somewhat non-germane to the issue at hand. The fact that there are 64 folders showing but only one actual folders exist is what is important. Not what the folder is called.

Regardless, the other folders (pictures, documents, music) ALSO exhibit this behavior.

And it's not just on this one machine in my network. Others have similar repeated folders as well.

I don't know the answer.
Some others might.

Properties doesn't tell me anything useful.

However, each copy is linked. If I open a folder, say ~3, and delete a file from that folder, the same file is deleted from all 64 copies of the folder.

They are some sort of active duplicate, all showing as a shared network folder.
