Solved VBScripts Not Working

Hello. I use vbscripts a lot to keep my desktop icons to a minimum, However, when I tried to use them with Widows 7 they did not work. My problem is best illustrated by a simple example. I have a file "Hello World.vbs" which has a single line of code :

Wscript.Echo "Hello World"

If I launch the script, by double clicking on the file, in Windows Vista, I get a message box with "Hello World" in it. The same action in Windows 7 opens the file in Notebook and displays the line of code as if expecting me to edit the file.

works fine here, i just made a text doc with Wscript.Echo "Hello World" then renamed it Hello World.vbs and double clicked it and i got this

Have a look at this Tutorial and ensure that the .vbs extension is set to its default action.

Have you checked: Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Associations
and check if .vbs is set to Windows Script Host.

Thanks Guys. The file association program was set to Notepad (by the Easy Transfer program?). I changed this to Windows Script Host, as suggested, and all is well.
