vertical colored lines on screen

Fault just started yesterday
have never had this on any pc or laptop before.
Any suggestions or causes ?

The machine seems ok otherwise , I took it apart earlier today and cleaned out dust etc and no loose wires evident.
Its a Toshiba L300 - 155

I bought the machine used in 2011 for about £120 i think so it isnt worth much now !
But i am happy to tinker and replace parts etc if its not mega time consuming.

have access to another laptop for browsing etc.

Hi Welcome to Seven Forums ... Can you try connecting to an External Monitor or another source ... To rule out Graphics Card issue ? ...

Unfortunately I have no monitor to try it out with.

Last time I saw that, my mobo went south. Let's hope it is not that.

Run a live Linux CD and see whether that does it too. Maybe it is only a driver problem.
