Does the fact that the 2 sets of RAM have different serial numbers make up a big difference or is it normal to run 2 sets of same ram concurrently ?

As indicated before, ram (especially in 64 bit) is really, really, finicky. Ram is matched within each package. All the sticks in that package match.

Other packages of exactly the same ram, mfr, serial number, and packages match themselves but not nec. the first package.

So is it possible that Memtest was giving me false positives? Or are they actually not going to work together because it is a 64 bit operating environment .

I got 2 sticks of same serial number to pass 1 pass of Memtest so far.. attempting another pass and then I will test the other 2 sticks of ram as well...
