I just updated w/AMD's Driver Packaging Version 14.501.1003-141120a-177998C
I am having some problems. The laptop will boot quickly but once I type in my password the cursor/orb in the middle of the screen freezes. It gets to the desktop and freezes. 10 seconds between responses. Eventually everything speeds up and the PC seems to work fine.
I had 4 mapped drives and disconnected them all but that did not help.
EVent viewer did say that the AMD driver failed and recovered but that is only ONE instance.
I also see several fails of skydrive failing as well.
I am not sure what to look for here....I can't tell what is dragging the laptop down using process explorer because once PE begins to function there is nothing slow to display!
I have run malware bytes and MSE.
Another bizarre thing....if I remote into the laptop it seems to knock something loose and it will function quickly via remote. Once I kill remote and log back into the laptop its fine.
If I lock the laptop I get similar results.
Problem with the AMD driver? Can I roll back the driver or is it somehow locked into the massive catalyst control center download/install that comes w/the driver update?
I did uninstall Raptor which is some gaming program that comes w/CCC. There was a program called akami netsession (?) which I also uninstalled after researching a bit.
Any suggestions?
