Hey,

my Lenovo Z570 (1024) is running very slow even after fresh install and defrag. The drive seems very slow and the activity list seems to be going on for quite a bit. The overall speed of the machine is effected and it seems slower that my wifes Samsung R511 i5 laptop.

The specification of my PC is as follows

2nd Generation i7 Quad Core
8GB DDR 3 1333 RAM
750GB Hard Drive

Cheers

There is typically a lot of drive activity after a clean install---more than normal. It should quiet down in a day or two.

How slow is very slow and doing what? 5 minutes to boot? 30 seconds to open Word?

More detail needed generally.
