I want to get some old vhs tapes of family and such and rip them on my computer.

I got the tapes, the player, the capture card, and my computer all hooked up but i dont have any software.

Im a guy that likes to do everything free so is there a free program out there that will simply record the video and spit it on my hard drive?

I went to the manufacturer of my card and it is discontinued with no software....no wonder i got it for such a deal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Edit: sorry i forgot to tell you what card i have. It is Brand: Avermedia Model: HC82

Thanks

I love my gaming rig, FreeCell and Solitaire never looked so good.
I used to do a lot of this type of thing, the software I used was Nero Vision (Nero 7 version), but for a free software to do it, not sure about that.
