Vid card not running at full x16 speed.

Well I ran an occt test on my dfi board with my new psu and new video card. I just now got to check the results. (The computer had restarted as well)

Here's the files that it left. What's with the drop after 30 min or so?

edit: Thanks Ram... I have removed and reinstalled the drivers plenty of times. I even ended up reinstalling windows! Nothing seems to be narrowing it down!

double edit: I'm not able to swap the psu with my nuuo - the misses wants to play her sims 3 tonight lol silly valentines day!

Bumping with new information. I use a coolmax psu tester and the -5v light didn't come on. I can't find anything that says this leads to a bad psu, but I can't find anything saying it's ok either.

12volt amperage could be better on that psu, but it should be sufficient for a stable system.

Ok, so I hate to bump this thread and keep babbling... but... tonight I came home and put everything back together because I wanted to test the ram one last time. I had the mobo ready to pack up in a brown box to ship. So I literally reassembled the entire thing. Everything seems to run perfect. After a couple of reboots (just to make sure nothing changed) I ran occt for 1 hr came out fine. ran prime95 for 1hr 30 min or so and 0 errors and no bsods or anything. So it seems as though I did not have my processor set just right. Although it appeared to be.

So for now I will leave this thread in peace since I seem to have fixed my own problem. Thank you all so VERY much for any input that was given. Thanks so much guys =D

I'm not sure if this will help, but I'd definitely remove the drivers, shut down/pwer off, remove the card entirely. Clean the Pci-E slot gently, an old tooth brush will work, replace everything and boot up, install the drivers, restart, and see if that helps.

If you read the entire thread you'd see the OP has basically done what you suggested a few times. Hasn't worked.

The way I fix it, each and every time, is to physically remove the video card, and the power to it, and replace it.

You shouldn't have to fix power issues by removing and replacing the video card all the time. The fact that this is necessary says there is a major hardware issue that needs addressing.

In short – under normal operating conditions, that step isn’t a requirement.

I read the entire thread, I thought it was worth posting. I'm well aware of the bug and the underlying issue. I prefer my post be taken at face value by the OP, nothing more..

Anyway glad it's fixed.
