Video Card driver won't be installed

Hi all,

On the Windows 7 x86 I'm working, the video card driver seems not be installed. Device Manager shows only: Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. Also the SystemInfo Windows 7 forums' app shows the same message for the graphics card.
But there are two signs and demonstrate there's not only the built-in Graphics on the motherboard but also another one. The VGA cable is attached to that video card. And the second, when I click on Start, the Sleep button is grayed out.

Why is not that video card shown by Device Driver nor the app above?
And how to make it shown and then find and install a correct video card driver for the machine, please?

Please run MS_Info32_Find_Problem_Devices.bat from here => BATCH PROGRAMS [Standalone] and then upload the results using the tutorial at the bottom of the above link [Upload to SevenForums . . .] and someone will look at it for you.

I ran the bat file and there were two options there. [1]: Abort, [2]: Run MSINFO32 - Find problem devices
The result was shown this way: NO PROBLEM DEVICES WERE FOUND, deleting the EMPTY file ...

Now, what do do please?

[1] That was to see if there were obviously any problem devices, which there are not.
[2] As your computer is a desktop, have you tried removing and re-seating the graphics card?
[3] You could try deleting the graphics card driver [if it is shown!] from the Device Manager and then re-starting the computer.

There's only this item written in the Display Adapter part of the Device Manager: Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
should I delete and restart the machine to see the changes?
Or removing the video card hardware from the PC and reinstalling it there?

I pulled out the video card. Its model, as is written on a label on it, is: GF MX4000 128 MB DDR TV
Where can I download its driver for Window 7 x86?
by the way, is it good for that OS, please?

I just did a Google search and found that post #2 in the link below says it has a TESTED & WORKING solution for Win 7 x86 => NVIDIA GeForce MX 4000 driver.

I downloaded and went for installing it. In the middle of installation, the follwoing message appeared!


On the one hand, I myself say the video card is connected to the system, otherwise it wouldn't send picture to the screen through the VGA cable.
On the other hand, why in the Device Manager this is written: Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
Furthermore, "Sleep" is still grayed out!

What is the problem, please?

From my experience, Sleep will be greyed out until the graphics card is enabled.

From the searches I did, the driver for this card is not Win 7 compatible.

It's a long shot, but right click on the installation file and select properties. In the Compatibility tab, set it for XP SP2. Apply the change and run it. Does that help?
