video game lag

so ive been having this problem for about 2 weeks now. whenever i try to play a downloaded game on my computer it will run fine for about 10 minutes then lag for 4 to 5 then run fine for another 10 then lag again. I watch the processes and they say i am only using 20% of computers power. The only processes that are running are scvhost taskmanager and the game im playing. Im not sure if the problem is related to svchost because the computer usage is still down around 20 percent. It almost seems like the games usage power drops when it begins to lag but i cant confirm this. I ran a game booster and still same lag. It isnt that the computer doesn't have enough power to handle the game either because it had been running thegame fine before this. I have like800 gb free on hard drive out of 900 so its not too clogged up either. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated

Have you run AV scans etc to make sure your rig is clean?
Your drivers directx etc etc have all been updated?

Dunno about your vid card either..looks ordinary..if it possible try to borrow some ones card and fit and run it..

you appear to have plenty of ram and the CPU is up to it so I can only assume that it's maybe your card..

Is the game online?

the card is an nvidia geforce 9100. How do you update DirectX i was trying to do that but couldnt exactally figure it out. And iveran anti virus scans and the computer is clean. and yes the game is online

right now it is forsaken world. But it is on any online downloadable game ive tried to play. It also lags on browser based games that are online.

I'd first find out if it's the machine, or the crap games you're playing? Do you have any real games you can test with? If the machine can handle a hard game in single player, but not multiplayer, then you might need the mmcs fix. If it can handle multi just fine, then there would be a problem with either your isp, your network, or... most likely, the crappy browser based game.

go to Microsoft DirectX Downloads and search for w/e direct X version your card runs..It's intergrated graphics not a standalone card?

What is your internet speed? Browser based/free downloadable games are for the most part rubbish, so try with any game thats on a disc..borrow one off a mate and see how that goes.

My bet is its your net,too slow or over subscribed or w/e. Intergrated graphics if thats what the 9100 is aren't much good either. If you can and if the manuf allows it I'd upgrade asap..I mean a 9600GT card will run Crysis2 nps albeit with some of the eyecandy turned down/off.

I am having the same problem... with the same game. I also have a GeForce 9100. I have tried other games (including fallout 3) All of these game were running fine until about a week ago for me, then suddenly they started to have intermittent video lag as described by the person above.
