Hi Guys,

Lately I've been having some annoying problems with my laptop screen suddenly freeze and turns black. Sometimes it freezes and the screen just blinks like crazy.
I have this error indicating that there's been some Video Hardware Error.

PS : I don't use my laptop for playing games anymore. I am using it mostly for browsing and watching HD movies, but all the errors happened when I did the browsing on the net or accessing my iTunes.

My laptop is Alienware M15x, 8GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M (65 W) and I am using the latest driver provided on Dell's page.

Thank you

Hi there,
Here are a few things to try with this error.
1.) make sure all vents on the laptop are clean and clear, there might be a heat build up causing the video to crash.
2.) make sure you check for malware
3.) even tho you have the most current drivers try to uninstall them reboot and reinstall one of the files might have become corrupt.
4.) make sure you have updated your directx files one might have become corrupt.

Try this and let us know.

Hi DarkXeno,

Thank you for your quick reply.
I have installed the latest driver for my graphic card from NVIDIA website.
I did that before in the past and I found out that the colors looks very unusual after I installed the driver.
That was why I only installed the driver provided by Dell.
The only problem is the driver was dated way back in 2010, and I think it contributed to my problems.
I installed the latest driver from NVIDIA page last night and so far so good.
I will post again for the update.
Thank you again...
