I mean, you can recode but the quality will suffer. If you have the original disc, it would be just as easy to start over. (takes just about as long as well)

As I mentioned, Im not familiar with that encoding program.

Can you manually set the settings. Perhaps tell it to disable resizing and Do not crop the video ..
OR ... Do it manually making both the same.

It would be best to keep the bit rate the same as well for both video and audio. But, you do have some wiggle room here.
The bitrate doesnt need to be exactly the same .. but close.

But resolution should be.

The reason this becomes a issue is because its trying to make 2 files into 1 single file.
So when the resolution is different, it can cause problems like this.

Hmm, you ask questions that I can't answer. I'm going to resign myself to starting over from scratch, but will postpone that until I have my new build put together, because I don't have the patience to wait the eternity that it takes on this rig now. Thanks for the guidance.

EDIT: I'm going by memory...which suffers somewhat, but the best that I recall, it simply offers multiple resolutions from which to choose. I never paid much attention, and just used whatever it set as default. I'll not make that mistake again.
