I installed VirtualBox on my laptop running Windows7.

Since then I haven't been able to access the internet from the host Win7; forget the guest for now.

Following are the errors I have seen:

1. "Not server found" on any browser
2. If I pass the above error. "Invalid network configurations" on my ISP's login page(for internet access)

There are tonnes of posts on the internet which only talk about fixing "no internet" access in the Guest OS. Couldn't find a relevant one for the host win7 issue.

Please help. I have my course deadlines on Saturday.

I just ran into this problem myself. Go into Control Panel>Network and Sharing Center>Change Adapter Settings> right click on your connection and choose Properties. Click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties. Make certain Obtain IP address automatically is checked and that no numbers are in the IP fields.

I think VB does something to the connection's properties when it's installed.
