Solved virtual memory

My windows 7 machine has 16 Gb of RAM memory, an SSD (vertex 111Gb) disk and 2 WD (1Tb) harddisks.
To save space on my SSD, I was advised to remove my virtual memory, which I did several months ago.
Everything worked fine after that, even Photoshop.
This week I started working with MAGIX which is a filmediting program en I unfortunately had several crashes since then.
I can normally restart my computer after the crash, but find the situation very disturbing.
Could the removal of the virtual memory be the reason?
Is it a good idea to put it back, or what advice could you give me?
If I restore the vm should I let windows organise the size?
If anybody could be of some help, I would be very grateful.

@PMK, I have 32 Gb and have my virtual memory set at system managed, and set on my drive D. This is the easiest way to set it up. Note, put the virtual memory on one of your spinners. Regards; Sarris

Therre are 2things, I don't quite understand.
I also have my virtual memory set as system managed and would much raher not, have it on my C:// disk, but prkeferably on my D:// drive.
However I would not know how to acomplish ,this as Windows is set up on my C:// disk in the directory Program files.
Could you tell me how I could change one and another?
Then, what do you mean by "spinners" ?

When you go to your System Properties/Advanced/Performance/Virtual Memory tab, uncheck the Automatically Manage box at top left. Then select the drive from the list you want to use, and hit the system managed size button & the SET button. That's it.

Spinner = Old style mechanical Hard Drive

PS: My Dutch (none) is much worse than your English. LOL

Just want to thank you again for your help.
Everything works just fine now and I do not have to worry about space being taken from my SSD drive by the virtual memory.

Hi Sarris,
After fixing the virtual memory, I still get these blue screens, quite often now, even in photoshop.
Is the anything else you could suggest me to do?
Would renewing the memory be useful, or could it be a solution to change the 4x4GB into 4x8GB ? (32 Gb.)
My ASUS motherboard can handle thisas I saw.
In case you have a solution, or advice I would be grateful.

Sorry, I have no other suggestions other than do a memory diagnostic to check for a bad memory stick. Possibly uninstall using Revo Uninstaller (clean out all the old registry entries as well) & reinstall the offending programs.

And no, 16 GB is probably enough unless your video editing software requires more. My 32 GB is overkill, but it was on sale as a two for one, so I bought it.

Anyone else have suggestions?

Beacuse I persumed that my trouble could have something to do with, either my usb stick, my external harddrive, or my card reader (USB 3) I removed them all.
I also turned the program "malware bytes" which at the end had discovered 99 faults in the registry.
I removed them all and am curious if this could have been part of the reason of the blue screens.
I will follow your advice Concerning the memory test tomorrow.
Is there a specific program you could advise me to use for this test, preferably free?

I'd start by using the internal windows memory check. At run, type in mdsched.exe. Should be self explanatory from there.

You never know on the registry stuff. It very well could fix your issue.
