Virus making new user folder in users folder!?

HELP!!!

I turned my computer on after work and found that it seemed like everything had been deleted, as in I had no installed programmes anymore and my documents, pictures and videos libraries were empty. Also that I had no record of my email anymore.. So I had a look and found this new user folder (Dan.Dan-PC) which was created in my users folder.

My old user (Dan) is still there which has all my old information and library structure there but it is not being showed anymore. It is some virus which is loading these new libraries on startup!! Please help me!!!

I did a scan with AVG and got this:

You might try the procedure's listed in the guide. This system seems to be pretty far gone. Interesting virus, a swing and a miss for AVG. :sarc:

Having an extra drive with a recent system image + system restore procedure using DVD is the best method for fixing these problems.

Of course these days you need to keep that extra drive unplugged if you really want to keep it safe.

Your image shows that AVG blocked the first 4 items and either deleted or moved the others. However, it appears it, also, allowed something to infect the system. You could try using Kaspersky On-line Scanner, if you can still access the internet. Visit the following site to download;

I am thinking it is more likely you signed in with a temporary profile. That is what it looks like to me.
While you had malware on your pc, it looks like avg took care of it. I think its a temp profile issue. Possibly caused by the malware.

Did you get a message about that when you logged in?
