Solved Virus not picked up by anti virus

I have Bitdefender it did not pick up the virus .scr i think thats what it was

So what i have done is deleted everything on the hard drive and formatted it

then put fresh wins 7 ultimate on there would that resolve the problem with that virus

OK, that will work. But, how did you know you had a virus in the first place.............?

i had a diff prog that picked it up as malware in system.32 and the prog would not get rid of it and then it spread to the system

Hope that has helped explain dont know how it got there tho as im careful in what i download every single time

Deleting an reformatting might have been overkill.
Next time try Malwarebytes before doing anything so drastic. It can get rid of those really difficult ones.
