Who noticed the Vista Bootscreen being used somewhere in Windows 7?

You might find it built into a specific function? :p

Hello dmex....:)

Isn't it one of the 7 desktop offerings?

Nope, Its built into one of the boot-options available during startup ;)

Im still waiting for someone to find it but I guess no one has spotted it yet...

Its being used for this 'something' function in windows 7 which is very surprising because you will notice it if your system crashes and you need to select this option to enter the start-up the repair menu built into the boot-options ;)

yep..... i saw it Steven, i tried to ''repair'' W7 from the boot screen & the vista loading logo came up ...i thought ''Noooooo'' surly its not running the repair on vista!!!

but W7 popped up much to my relief. :p

its a continual ''work in progress''....
Yeah, I too tried the repair option on my Laptop but it kept going and going for at least an hour. So I did what the screen said not to do, and I turned off the PC hard booted it again and noticed there was another option. It said Delete recovery files and boot MBR. Which I selected and within minutes I was back to the regular desktop without the restored session. Which I didn't care about anyways.

Using non-RAID on purpose as I find RAID to be too temperamental.
Now set to AHCI
As it has been like this since the first boot up, I assumed the same.

Just remember that I got one Windows XP in the first partition (E:\ in this case)
At the first time, I think there was another session called {ntldr} for my XP. But after the problem, it became useless so I deleted it. Now I really want to know how to bring it back on.

When you say without success - do you mean the command prompt did not respond it had completed successfully?

If so, try copying and pasting the command in - it has to be exactly correct, including the spacing:

bcdedit /set {current} locale en-US

like this:

en-US-2-2009-04-29_232014.jpg

You will probably be on the C: drive and have white writing on a black screen. ( You probably know that - it is for the benefit of others reading this thread).

Could be - there is a minimum graphics requirement .

If your screen resolution is less than 600 vertical pixels you get the Vista-style screen.

Here's what Steve Sinofsky has to say on the Endineering Windows 7 Blog in response to a question why the Dell Mini 9 has the Vista-style boot screen...
re: Engineering the Windows 7 Boot Animation
@Alan_Burchill -- the new sequence requires a native resolution higher than the 1024x600, "It gets a pointer to the frame buffer from the firmware (either BIOS or UEFI firmware), and displays a higher resolution image (1024 x 768)."
