Having problems with voices on YouTube and other videos being too low and slow which makes me wonder if it's somehow playing too slowly, as when using VLC player there's a play faster "Speed" option which solves this. I've looked in "Sound" but can't find anything similar to click on so any suggestions most appreciated....

Thanks :)
Forgot to add this also happens in Skype too....

YouTube use Flash for playing. Reinstall Flash to see if that helps YouTube.

Any other audio problems, first step make sure you are using the correct sound driver and in this case the HP supplied sound driver.

Thanks. Bought the laptop s/h a couple of months ago and as a first time user of it still finding my way around, and although I downloaded 64 bit a couple of days ago just discovered I've still got Windows 32 bit installed for some reason ? I've also got Adobe F/Player 11 ActiveX and Adobe F/Player 11 Plugin installed so would these be the two to remove first ?

Sorry no idea what should be the correct sound driver....?

Probably you need to update your sound driver.

Go To Start > Computer > System Attributes (or something like that) on the topleft > Device manager (on the left dropdown menu).

Then look for "Sound, Video and game controllers" and click on the arrow. It should show you what sound device you have.

Then doubeclick on the sound device and choose "Driver" On the top menu. After that hit "Update Driver", If it finds no driver google one and find it from a trusty source.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the helpful advice. Uninstalled the old Flash players and now installed latest 64 bit, but need to test it on Skype and a couple of videos as the low voice only happens now and again.

Checked the "Update Driver" too which said my Realtek audio driver is the latest version and is up to date so bit of testing now to see if the problem's solved. Will let you know....

Again many thanks ! :D

I'll have to find another but although you have 32 bit do you have any problems with the pitch of his voice as well ?

Edit:
All the voices on this BBC film from the very beginning are too low as well....

I had the same bug with bad sound, especially on bass-heavy sound bits, but I found a work around

Go to Start -> Control panel -> Flash Player -> Advanced

I deleted all "Site Data and Settings"
