Solved volsnap.inf

I recently did a sfc /scannow,
and I found out that the only file with multiple accounts of corruption had to deal with volsnap.inf.

How do I fix this? Other than probably re-formatting my entire harddrive, or at least the first partition where the OS is installed.

Carefully read through OPTION THREE of http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html and the tip in that option. That will give steps to manually repair any files that SFC /SCANNOW is unable to repair.

But where do I find volsnap.inf?
It doesn't give me a pathway when I scan it via sfc /scannow

You will need to search for it on your system. Open a command prompt (Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt) and type

dir /a /s volsnap.inf

I just followed the steps you gave me, and it still says that it's corrupt.. and I was able to successfully replace the files.

Edit: I even restarted, and it still says its corrupt.
I'll upload my log just in case.

If manually replacing the files does not work, you will need to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html Windows 7.

Steps 1-3 and 5-7 of http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164 will help you get installation media, backup any important files (just in case), and obtain your license keys for software (just in case) and the Windows license key (you will need this key).

I have windows 7 ultimate and I tried uninstalling SP1 because I have a cd without SP1, and when I tried uninstalling via control panel, it wouldn't let me, because there was an error. I haven't deleted the sp1 backup files via disk cleanup.
So do I just transfer these files to a usb and boot the repair install from there?

I've never done this before so i'm not quite sure how this file works.

You can extract it using 7-zip, transfer those files to USB or your C: drive, and install it from USB or your C: drive. The better, more reliable method is to double click the ISO and burn it to a DVD, and then install from the DVD.
