Solved W7-Can programs be installed on SDX cards?

I've switched an old laptop from a SATA spinner to a smaller SSD drive. Much better speed and performance but more space would help. Possible to install apps to SDX cards, like it is with W10?

If you boot from the SSD, yes, I think you can install apps to SDX cards but the speed will be very slow.
Try it.

You can do it. I do with a very limited Netbook running Windows 7 Starter. Yes, it will be slow to load those programs on the SD card. You're better off with a bigger SSD.

Thanks, guys. I was thinking of stuff that might remain open for a while. Like Word, which I sometimes leave open almost permanently. So the loading time wouldn't matter.

In my experience there's not many of those.

Anyway, it sounds like it's worth a try.
