W7: WE takes 5-6 seconds to create "new folder"

All of a sudden, using windows xplorer in W7 Pro takes 5-6 seconds or more to create a "new folder". After that folder is created, next new folder is created quickly. Been creating folders w/WE in W7 pro for yrs with no problem.

Any suggestions?

Hi klxdrt.

Please open up an elevated command prompt, basically type in cmd at the Windows search -> right click cmd and select run as administrator. In there type sfc /scannow and hit enter.

We'll start there and continue onwards with the troubleshooting!

PS, I don't know if this is 'part of the problem', the lite on my DVD player & HDD are flashing all the time.
W7 Pro 32 bit.
