I setup 2 Media center PC's and have them both goto sleep when not being used. They wake up in the middle of the night due to mcupdate_scheduled which I understand and know how to turn off.

My problem is I want to leave it the option on and have the computers go back to sleep after the update is finished. What can I check?
I don't mind them waking when they do but then they stay on.

Thanks,
Scott

First, I'm assuming that you have Windows set to sleep after some period of time. Second, I assume that the settings for monitor off, hard drive off, and the other settings have a value that is LESS than the number of minutes for Windows to go to sleep.

If the above is true... The next time this happens, login as an admin user, and open an elevated command prompt (the elevated part is important if you have UAC turned on... it is on by default). Type the following command at the command prompt, and paste the output here:

Code:
powercfg -REQUESTS

This will tell us what is keeping your computer from going back to sleep.

I have a similar problem, machine goes to sleep without problem, wakes up to record, goes back to sleep, unless MC is in foreground when all it will do is stop drives and disable display.
